HIGH HELLOS!

Here is Wednesday's SCS Sketch a day late. Better late than never I say. I had a good reason though I had a date with my son. His wife had to work tonight so he took me to dinner and a movie. How lucky can a mom get???
Question:
Is there a trick to lining up all these squares? I did a card like this in an earlier post but I did not line up anything..it was kind of retro looking. Anyway..I was just wondering if someone had a trick.

I water colored the rockets with my SU markers on watercolor paper. The yellow stars are stamped with polka dots in yo yo yellow. I used the stamp from polka dots and petals..its a circle...I stamped it then punched out the star.

Stamps: Lizzie Anne High Hellos and Su Polka Dots and Petals
INk: Stazon black, real red and not quite navy, yo yo yellow
Paper: Basic Black, not quite navy, real red, yellow and watercolor paper
Punches: SU 1" and 1 1/4" square and small star...$1 tiny star

Boy am I looking forward to tomorrow...TGIF!!!!! Whats even better is I only have to work 2 1/2 days next week and my two grand daughters are coming for 4th of July YEAH!!!!!! There parents are coming too of course :)

I hope the start of your weekend is great and it only gets better from there!
Thanks for stopping by.

OKAY SO I DECIDED TO COME OUT OF THE CORNER!

If you read my previous post you will understand my title. I decided instead of pouting I would do todays SCS Color challenge.
It is one of the rare times when I actually have the colors. So who could pout under those conditions :)
On the butterflies I did the rock and roll ink method with wild wasabi and teal. I made the scallops with the slit punch.
I used the 2 Sketches 4 You layout--get two for the price of one!

Stamps: Warm Words and Priceless
Ink: Wild Wasabi and Teal
Paper: Whisper White, Wild Wasabi and Teal
Embellishments: Dew Drops and ribbon
Tools: Cuddlebug, slit punch, corner rounder, dimensionals.

I am off again....to sleep instead of pout. I will wake up a rested happy woman...well one can hope anyway.
Happy Stamping Dreams!!!! Day Dreams if you're reading this during the day!!!

IF FIRST YOU DONT SUCCEED TRY AGAIN!

Okay, I admit I am not one to let something get the best of me. I could not rest until I tried to make a decent card before I went to bed.
This is my second attempt tonight. I have to say it may not be my best but it is definitely better!!! I can put my little head on my pillow and be at peace. By the way...I didn't have to bang my head against the the wall.
I went for texture with this card. I used dotted swiss cuddlebug, crimped the leaves and embossed the flower with black

Stamps: Fresh Cuts and Stampendous flower
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Regal Rose and Wild Wasabi
INk: Old Sage and Stazon Black
Embellishments: black ribbon, cuddlebug, crimper, embossing and white gel pen

I am off to rest my weary bones!!!! Tomorrow is the start of a new week...have to be refreshed!!! HA!
Have a wonderful week...

Where did the days go between Wednesday and Sunday?? Where did my MOJO go too??? I have been busy the last couple of days helping friends. I just sat at stared at it and nothing...zippo. It actually looks a little better in person really.

They say two brains are better than one so tell me what you would do to this poor card....besides send it to someone with poor eye sight. LOL

Stamps: Best Kind of Friend (I tried to be this weekend)
Ink: Not Quite Navy
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Basic Black, Whisper White
Embellishment: Black Ribbon

Okay...I am going to bang my head against a wall and see if that might help...hahaha
If my mojo is visiting your house could you please send it home!! :)

WEDNESDAY SKETCH CHALLENGE

Three posts on the same day...that doesn't happen very often! I finally got around to the SCS challenge for today. I think this sketch will be placed on one of my favorites list. I kept it pretty clean and simple that is what the sketch was calling to me....I went to my scarp pile again. I need to use up some of the scarps so I can get some new stuff. I think I got my "wonderful" a little too high..is there such thing as a perfect card?
Stamps: Warm Words...soon to be retired...poor things :)
Ink: Close to Cocoa
Paper: Brown cardstock and all the rest is scarps from dp from the LSS
Embellishments: that cute little punch from Michael's $1 bin. Love that punch
Tools: white gel pen and mat pack

Snickers (my dog) is looking at me like "can we please play now" so I guess I am going to go toss a ball around. How can you not with such a cute face looking at you?

Maybe I will go for post #4 today......
I am so glad you stopped by....have a great rest of the day!!!!

LOOK WHAT I GOT!

Nancy Riley from iSTAMP sent me this RAK a few weeks ago. I took the picture and thought I had posted it already. I apologize to Nancy for taking so darn long to be grateful!!!!! :) It's a water bottle tag, father's day card and a calculator covered in SU dp. Aren't they all just sooo cute. Nancy does such a beautiful job on every thing she makes. I got so excited with her father's day card I ordered all the star stuff....dummy me though...forgot to order the handle to the large wheel, I have the small one. I guess I will just have to place another order...what's a girl to do? Have you seen what Nancy has been up to lately???? If not you should zip on over there.
Thanks again Nancy...you're amazing!!!

QUICK AND EASY THANK YOU

I made this quick little thank you card last night. It is 3 1/4 x 3 1/2. The corners are 1/4 of a scallop. I wanted to play with my fresh cuts stamp set again. I used my River Rock scraps from the card before and some Blue Bayou scraps from another project. I think I will play round with some more little notes this size that work up quick.

The shed got its garage doors today. We are nearing the end of this DIY project. We have to do a ton of caulking though before we can paint. I hope it still looks as good when we are done with all the small finishing work LOL. There is something about building something yourself. Gives you some sense of accomplishment....kind of like stamping a card! It's good for the soul.

I am off to try the Wednesday sketch. I'll be back....you come back too :)

FRESH CUTS

I have been working on my weStamp swap cards which I can't show you until next Tuesday. I finally finished and wanted to ink up my Fresh Cuts. I didn't get the note cards..just the stamps. I wanted to try something unlike all the others I have seen so this is what happened! Didn't end up how I started but I like it and that is all that matters right. It seems most of my project end up not how I started. LOL I think this is one of my favorite color combos.
Stamps: Fresh Cuts
Ink: Stazon Black
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White and River Rock
Embellishments: Black polka dot ribbon and red rhinestones
Tools: Square Punches: 1 3/8" - 1 1/4" - 1"

BABY NEWS!!!!
Baby number two is a little girl...they said don't start collecting pink though...we all think it's a girl for sure. So we will have a little boy and a couple weeks later a little girl. I will be sewing a little boy blessing outfit out of his moms wedding dress trane. I made the girls they have a dress out of it already. It will be fun!!! It's great to be a grandma!!!!!

I am off to contemplate another card. Tomorrow is Sketch Wednesday at SCS I wonder what they will be having us do???
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world!!!!

MY FIRST CUPCAKE

Have you ever had a cupcake from Sprinkles? They are to die for!!! We had them when my daughter and her husband had an open house in Calif. If you try one you will never eat a box mix cupcake again. I had some colored cupcakes I needed to do something with...what better thing than Beate's Weekend Challenge. Made me think of Sprinkles the whole time I was working on it :)
Stamps: Cupcakes for Inkadinkadoo
Ink: Stazon on black, close to cocoa, groovy guava and wild wasabi
Paper: whisper white, groovy guava, wild wasabi and dp from porcelain prints
Embellishments: white grograin ribbon and dazzling diamonds

Sad to say not too much gofer girl today!! It rained as soon as we got all the tools to the shed. We thought it was wise not to crank up the power tools with thunder and lightening. My hair is already naturally curly!! Tuesday the garage doors will be installed though so guess what we will be doing Monday night....we don't work on it on Sunday's.

I have a question to all you pros out there...when you use dazzling diamonds how do you not get it all over the rest of the card and you? No matter how hard I try it still flies around.

Tomorrow is the retired list day....that is all the buzz. It will be my first retired list so I am not buzzing yet LOL
Interesting they would announce it on Father's Day.

Have a great day tomorrow...don't forget to call the men in your life!!!

IT'S A BIRD. IT'S A PLANE. IT'S A PHOTO CORNERS PUNCH?

I am not known for sitting very still. Always playing with whatever is in front of me. Well, I had all these leftover photo corners sitting in front of me and I began to play around with them and look what happened! I even like it. Reminds me a little bit of a quilt square. For the center I used a 1" circle punch and on top of that is the boho blossoms punch followed by a black brad. TA DA. Oh yeah the card is a 5 1/4 square card. I might have to make my own envelope. I haven't put a sentiment on it yet...I want to keep a couple cards blank so I can pop something on them when needed.
Stamps: None for Now
Paper: Whisper White, Purely Pomegranate, Basic Black
Punches: Photo Corners, 1"circle and Boho Blossoms
Embellishments: Black Brad

Enjoy your weekend...stop by again! I'll have a gofer girl update tomorrow!!!

PINK PETALS AND POLKA DOTS

This was the card sketch for todays SCS180 challenge today. I like the layout. I went a little crazy with the card. I wanted to use a color that I hadn't used before. I chose Pink Passion. I colored the flowers with my blender pen and ink. I made the black and white polka dot paper....using black in and a pencil eraser....I inked all the edges with black ink to tone down the starkness of the white a little. It's pretty basic.

Stamp: Lizzie Anne High Hellos
Ink: Pink Passion, Stazon Black, Yo You Yellow
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Pink Passion
Embellishments: Word Window and regular hole punch

Thanks for stopping by!

MORE ADVENTURES OF GOFER GIRL

We spent Friday and Saturday working on the shed. Gofer Girl got a promotion!!! I helped install the door and put on siding. I have learned when installing a door...throw away the instructions...we could not get it to work..finally after the second attempt was still not working we went to where our son is building a house and looked how his doors were installed. Nothing like the instructions...Sooo...we threw away the instructions and installed it like the builders did and it went right in...and the door even opens and shuts..Wohooo!!!! Did I ever mention that my husband has never build anything before....I am very proud of him...it looks professional! When people ask about it we tell everyone you can learn anything on the Internet and HGTV. And guess what. After two days in the sun at over 90 degrees my legs are still white as can be...go figure!!!!

I mentioned a few post ago I did a swap with my friends daughter....since I don't have a card made yet I thought I would share a cute one I got. I don't know who I swap with...I give the cards to my friend who gives them to her daughter who mails them somewhere and eventually I get cards back..... This was made with a cricut. I think the cartridge is Doodle Charms. I think it's pretty darn cute and so did my grand daughter I mailed one too.

I hope to stamp something later...I have sore muscles I never knew I had lifting and holding that long heavy siding. At least when I was gofer girl it didn't hurt!!! LOL

Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping by...check back later!!!

WEDNESDAY SCS CHALLENGE

I haven't been able to do a challenge card for awhile. It sure feels good to play along again!
This is today's SC179 sketch. I went for a lot of texture on this card. I colored my little bee with blender pens and ink and then added some dazzling diamonds for some bling.
Stamps: Stampendous Bee, warm words
Ink: Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate, Blue Bayou and Stazon Black
Paper: Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate, Blue Bayou and Whisper White
Tools: Cuddlebug, Nestabilities, $1 star punches
Embellishments: Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals

I actually made 3 of these cards...I couldn't get a good picture of all three. I wanted to try making more than one at a time like some bloggers do. I think I am going to keep doing it. One for me and two for who ever I mail them too. It really doesn't take that much more time because you already have everything out and all the measurements.

Have a great rest of the day. Leave a comment and tell me what you think.

SUNFLOWER

I saw this sunflower on Lauren Meader's blog today and just had to try it. I love sunflowers. I just got the large round scallop set of nestabilities this week and thought it would be a great way to break them in. Lauren made a cute basket. I just made a card. You just cut each scallop down toward the center.
I sponged close to cocoa around the edges for some dept. I used the crimped on my leaves that I just cut out by hand. The center circle has been stamped with the polka dot stamp. The Thanks was stamped on the word window and then I attached it to a piece of paper and punched it down smaller on each side. You have to reattach it after the first side to do the second side.

Stamps: Polka dots and petals, Posies for you
Ink: Close to Cocoa and olive pastel
Paper: Dark and light brown, olive green and sunflower yellow
Large Round Nestabilities, circle punches 1" and 3/4", word window punch
Every other circle is attached with a dimensionals

Well I am off to bed. Have to work tomorrow. The weekends just fly by way too fast!!
