BLOG CANDY!

Yesterday I had my 6 month check up at my oncologist. He said everything looks good. So...to celebrate 6 months CA Free and my 3 month blog anniversary I have some blog candy.

Just leave me a comment and tell me your best stamping tip. Since I am still pretty new at this I love tips. I was so excited to learn baby wipes make good stamp cleaners. Those kinds of things. I will pick a winner on Saturday Morning. Good Luck!!!

I didn't post anything yesterday because the trip to my doctor takes all day and I was exhaused. So, I am off to create something tonight.

I guess I should mention -- I had uterine CA--no treatments necessary thank goodness!!!
Ladies---get your yearly check ups!!!! And mention any changes in your body. My tests were normal. I got lucky and had a great doctor who really listened to what I was saying and didn't call it menopause!

Thanks for coming

Sunday's SCS Challenge

Here is my card for the Featured Stamper Challenge at SCS today. It is Michelle her gallery is HERE. This is the card I chose. You are supposed to change at least 2 things. I changed the layout, colors, sentiment, stamps.

I stamped the background on the pink with polka dots and petals and then dotted the flower centers with my prisma marker.

This is the first time I have used a vanilla paper instead of white, I think it needs some highlights but I don't have that color pen...just a white one. Do they make a vanilla colored pen??

Stamps: Polka Dots and Petals, Friendship Blossoms, and Stampendous
Paper: Value Pack from Michael's (Boy is it thin!!!)
Ink: Regal Rose and Color Box chalk olive pastel
Embellishments: Pink Rhinestones
Additional: Prisma Color Markers, scallops punch, circle punch

Hope your weekend was great and your start to the week is good. Ugh Mondays!!!!

Thanks for coming!! Mauna

PUT YOUR ROLLER SKATES ON AND GET READY!!

Yesterday I got an SU box left on the front porch!!! It was full of the stuff I need for my very first Card Workshop. I decided to jump in feet first and go for it!! I decided what is the worst that can happen--if no one shows up the more stuff for me to play with. I am excited about it funny thing is....the only SU workshop of any kind I have ever seen is the welcome and training video. But hey, I am a big girl..I can do this..soooo ...Put your roller skates on and get ready!!!

I wanted to make a card with the two new colors of paper I got...regal rose and certainly celery. Love those colors. This time though I was smarter and wiser...I got the paper, ink and ribbon in the color. Now I can embellish to my hearts content!! I had a hard time taking a picture of this card though. The lighting just isn't right and it made things loose or uneven and they're really not. Does anyone else have that problem? This is a bigger card it measures 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 . I thought about doing a little butterfly trail but I don't have any markers that match yet. Mother's Day maybe :)

Stamps: Priceless and Warm Words
Paper and ink: Regal Rose and Certainly Celery, Whisper White Paper
Embellishments: Ribbon, white gel pen, and dew drops, dimensionals

Do something nice for yourself this weekend!!!!

EWE SPEAK TO ME!!

I saw this in the Paper Creations Spring Magazine and he just spoke to me. I had to make him. He is so goofy he's cute. It's probably the goofy that spoke to me! :) There is also a bunny and a birdie that are cute too. They are supposed to have some sort of handmade seed paper for their tummies. I just used batting. I might try to make the seed paper though. It is supposed to come in some kit but I am going to try and figure it out. HAHAHA!!

Paper: The Paper Studio Pack
Stamps: One of a Kind and Priceless
Ink: Basic Black and Purely Pomegranate
Embellishments: prisma flowers, green ribbon, black brads

We are getting another storm here in east Texas. I haven't had to water my garden with all this rain.

Thank "EWE" for dropping by

Funny Story About this Mug!

Actually, now it is two funny stories. I went to post this and in the middle of the title it decided to post itself.

I decided to try my rub ons from the Sale A Bration catalog. I had this mug all carefully planned down to the last detail. Then I went to put on the first thing - the big flower - I DROPPED IT!. Can you believe that. So where you see the flower is where it landed.
KER PLUNK !!!!Maybe this mug is possessed - Naw-how can a mug full of chocolate be possessed! :)

Two post in one hour - should I got try for three!!Posted by Picasa

GET OVER IT!!!!

Is it Thursday already!!!! Another day closer to going back to work ugh!!!

I saw this stamp in the bargain bin at my LSS and had to have it. I don't think you can read what it says on the suitcase..."Put on you big girl panties and get over it!"
There are a few people I would really like to tell that but.....I will be nice.

I wasn't going to do today's SCS Snip Snip challenge but then I realized this card works so I posted it there.

And yes another bright card. I will have to buy more pastel paper someday. Excuse me I me some...I am not sure I have any :)

Paper: Green Galore, Whisper White, Basic Black and Turquoise from LSS
Stamp: Not sure from the Bargain Bin
Ink: Basic Black
Embellishments: Paper Piercing and red fabric button brad.
I embossed the image with black then colored it with my prisma color markers. 1 1/2" circle under the button.

It was my turn today to have blog problems. It kept saying blogger was shut down try again later. I think we would all die if we lost our computers and couldn't share!!!

My 6th month Cancer free date is coming up....watch for a blog candy post!!!
Have a terrific evening.

It's Wednesday Again!!

It's 2 am so it is really early Wednesday. I gave up caffeine when I had my surgery in November. I decided since I would be in the hospital and on pain killers for a week that would be a good time. I wouldn't know if I had a headache!! I drank a root beer and since I am still up I am betting it had caffeine in it. Oh well I do some of my best work at 2am. When I write poetry that is usually when the inspiration comes.

This is today's sketch challenge SC173 . I liked this challenge.

I have decided I have been doing somethings backwards. I was picking my paper and then trying to match a stamp with it. Tonight I decided to pick the stamp first then match the paper. Sure makes things easier. I used my favorite little bee guy. Behind the bee is polka dot paper-it looks like I placed to circles there but I didn't. Strange how somethings end up. I colored in the bee with my inks and a blender pen. There is also dazzling diamonds on the bees wings and tummy and then on the flower.

Paper: Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou, Whisper White and DP from Paper Studio
Stamp: Stampendous Bee
Ink: Basic Black, Blue Bayou, and Wild Wasabi
Water color pencils, blender pen, dimensional, mat pack, black marker , dazzling diamonds

Well, I am going to try and go to sleep or I will be worthless tomorrow.
I am off to LALA Land Hopefully
See ya tomorrow, thanks for coming by. OOPs that's later today :)

Happy Monday!!!

Happy Monday!!

I looked at every ones snow pictures and thought wow - it was over 80 degrees here and the humidity is starting. You have to run your air conditioner so your furniture doesn't feel wet and mold.

This was my second attempt at this card today. TLC165 challenge is for a gift card, card. The first one I made I did the chalkboard technique. It looked great until I took the picture - the chalk looked all smeared. I don't really have the right kind of white ink. Mine drys too fast!! Sooo, I started again.

I like how this one turned out. Took me awhile to get into the groove or get my mojo as they say but it finally came. Better late than never!!

Paper: Purely Pomegranate, wild wasabi, whisper white, DP from wild asparagus
Stamps: So Many Scallops, Friendship Blooms and Polka dots and Petals
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Color Box Olive Pastel
Punches: Scallop, 1 1/4 circle, photo corners
Embellishment: ribbon, white gel pen

I am off to get my beauty sleep!!!!

Sweet Dreams!!

Featured Stamper

Today's Featured Stamper challenge from SCS is Silke Ledlow from My Life. I visit her blog often and love her ideas.

Here is the card I decided to do of hers. The rules are you have to change at least two things. I crimped the black background, changed the flowers and the colors, changed the ribbon and the sentiment.

Paper: SU whisper white, basic black, glorious green, lovely lilac, yo yo yellow, and pixie pink.
Stamp: Greeting Galore
Ink: lovely lilac
Punches: 1" and 1 3/16" daisy punches
Embellishments: rhinestones, brands, ribbon, and metal frame

T shirt transformation

I had a T shirt pattern in my stash of things. I 'm sorry I don't remember where I got it. Anyway, I added a tie pocket, and collar to make a mans shirt. The card size without the sleeve is 3 1/4 by 4 1/8. Next time I might make the collar a little thicker. There is probably a pattern out there somewhere so I wouldn't of had to drawn everything but I needed the practice!

Paper: SU Blue Bayou and Soft Sky
Stamps: Sprinkles and some old letters I had
Ink: Blue Bayou

I used my cutter and bone folder to score all the folds. It's tricky with thick cardstock and small things.

My husband is now working on our sprinklers and has the water all shut off. Since I don't have ink on every part of my hands yet I guess I will go stamp some more. Can't clean it off--might as well mess them up more.

Ya'll come back!!!!

Beate's Weekend Challenge #44

This is my card for Beat'e challenge #44. I used up some DP scraps I had for this one. I really wish I had a better camera. But oh well those are the breaks!

I learned something new with this card. When you stamp something like a wing one DP you can't flip the other side. The stripes on this guys wings for example. Now that I have pointed that flaw out don't notice anymore :)~

Paper: Paper Studio
Stamps: Will N Way
Ink: Close to Cocoa
Embellishments: Glitter Dust, two brown ribbons, pop up dots, chalk.

You know how I mentioned I don't have to work this week. One of the things I was looking forward to was sleeping in. I am a night person. Well, my husband is a morning person. He has been getting up between 5:30 and 6:00 and going outside to work on a project. Well this project is right outside our bedroom window. So......I am getting -at this unhuman hour -lots of crash, boom and bang. Got to love the man but I think we will have to discuss this :) I bet I end up sleeping in the spare room for a couple nights if I want to sleep in. Either that or pray for rain!!!!

Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping by!!

IT'S FRIDAY - LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE

It's Friday---YAHOOO!!!! I don't have to work for a week. I am so looking forward to time off.

I think this challenge has to be one of my favorites. Take a little and make a lot out of it. Todays LCS164 on SCS was to make a long card, no DP and not to many layers or embellishments.

I used two cardstock colors, two inks, two stamp sets, and 4 punches.
I have come to the conclusion that I am just a bright color gal. I always seem to be drawn to those colors. Matches my personality so they say.....

Stamps: SU True Friend and One of a Kind
Paper: SU Green Galore and Brilliant Blue
Ink: SU Green Galore and Brilliant Blue
Punches: Photo corners, 1" & 3/4" circles, and scallop punch.
I did pierce the scallops and the green stripes have green stamping on them.

Thanks for stopping by and your comments. I love comments!!!!
May your weekend be wonderful with loads of stamping time!!!

OOPS Recovery

Does this card look like an oops recovery? Well it is. This started out to be a longer card and then all thumbs me dropped a stamp on the bottom of it. And as usual it was after everything was glued and almost done. So.....off came some of the bottom. Some day I will get things perfect but not today.

Paper: whisper white, river rock, and basic black paper.
Ink: Versa Mark and basic black .
Stamps: Best Kind of Friend, True Friend, and Baroque Motifs
I also used a white pen.

Hope your day has been great and even better tomorrow!

It's Wednesday Sketch Time!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

I didn't have a lot of time today but here is my card for the SC172 challenge.
I used paper from the LSS and $1 stamps from michaels. I colored the bird with prisma markers. It's a pretty simple card.

My pictures are looking bowed again. I still haven't figured out why. Plus it's 10 pm so the lighten isn't that great. I know I look better in dull light but I am not sure about my card :)

Well, I am off to bed. I need my beauty sleep...I will be another year older tomorrow.

Stop by again!!!!!!

Wild Double Pocket Card

Todays TLC164 challenge was a double pocket card. I wanted to make a card for a teenager. It turned out pretty wild with the eyelash yarn. I used my cropadile to punch holes and then laced eyelash yarn around the card. I used SU rub ons on the tags. I didn't get a picture of that. ooops.

It really looks better in person. Honest!!!

I guess after chasing two little babies for a week I have a wild feeling :)

I am going to try a calmer version of the double pocket card tomorrow.

It's good to be creating again.

I'm back home!

I am back home. Somehow the things I posted while I was gone deleted. Here are the three cards I made. I only took a few supplies with me.

I missed making cards and blogging with all my friends. Chasing a 1yr and 3 yr old doesnt leave much time for either. At least when you're not used to it but I had a great time playing with them.

I am ready to get some ink everywhere!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by....I am back and will have new stuff ASAP!!!

It's time for Wednesday Sketch Challenge!

Here is my card for SC170 . I like this sketch a lot. And did you notice - It's not bright colors. Finally!! I used some wild asparagus paper I had. I did a scallop punch in the flower to make it pleasing to the eye.

I have decided I have a delima - I have embellishments and paper that don't match each other.
You go to the store and you say ..."Hey, this is cute." so you pick it up. Now I have a bunch of Hey this is cute that doesn't match. Does anyone else have this problem? Probably not if you have been is SU for awhile.

I am off to fix dinner. Wish it was as fun as stamping.

Two more days until another weekend. Can you believe it?

Come back again!!!!!!

Because I Care

I sat down to whip up a quick card for a friend. After I got started I realized I would spend forever trying to get everything line up perfectly. Soooo......I didn't line up anything... well sort of. This is my first square card. This is 4 1/4 by 4 1/4. I went punch happy!!!

Paper: wild wasabi, blue bayou, soft sky, groovy grava and whisper white
Ink: same colors and white gel pen
Stamps: baroque motifs and greetings galore
Punches: Square 1" and 1 1/4" and 3/4" circle

I am off to see what other stamping I can do.

Happy Stamping!!! :) Mauna

TLC162

Try a new technique challenge was Tole. I remember my mom did this when I was little. It was all the rage. She did it with clear silicone. I think it would have been easier with the silicone then foam dots. The dots show and are hard to get to the right size.
You weren't supposed to use a flower stamp unless that was all you had. I don't have many that aren't flowers so I got out the chicken. I layered his beak, tail, wing and skates. And once again its a very bright card. How do you make a dull or pastel chicken? I used small black beads for his skate wheels, knees and eye.

Paper: blue, yellow and red cardstock
Stamps: Whipper Snapper chicken, SU Polka dots and pedals
Embellishments: black beads, red ribbon
